The Reddest: Our Update Schedule
more
| We've finally settled on a consistent update schedule. On most days,
2 new images will be added to our texture library. These images will
usually be an object or scene paired with a texture. Once or twice a week,
the texture will include a normal and displacement map. Based on
feedback from our users, we've begun creating seamless textures and
are slowly adding these to the site as well. We haven't decided on
how often we'll be releasing seamless textures, but look for them in the
near future. |

The Tallest: "Request A Texture" Feature Added
more
| We've updated the site today, fixing a few bugs and adding a new feature - the ability to request a texture. Just fill out that form with a description of what you want and your email address, and we here at Gaming Textures will do our best to find you the images you need. Requested images are always put at the front of our image queue, and will be added to the site as quickly as possible. |

The Reddest: Big Weapons Update
more
| Over the next few weeks we're going to be adding several different kinds of melee weapons to our texture library. These include images of swords, knives, daggers, axes, and throwing stars. Images of guns and other firearms will be coming shortly after. |

The Reddest: Our Library: The Difference Between Objects, Textures, and Scenes.
more
| With today's update, we thought we would provide a break-down of the images in our texture library. Every image in the Gaming Textures library can be categorized as a texture, object, or scene. Each image is unaltered and is provided as a starting point for modelers and texture creators. Some objects have every side photographed so modelers can easily use them as reference images. A small portion of our library is classified as scenes. Scenes are images containing many objects like cityscapes and mountain ranges. These are very useful for developers creating large outdoor areas. Since we provide unaltered images, textures downloaded directly from our library are not usually tileable. It is our goal to begin incorporating tileable and repeatable textures into the library in the near future. We will also be greatly expanding the number of multi-sided object images over the coming months. Our library is updated with new images each week, so keep a eye out for new additions. |
